20th Birthday Celebration
With a bit of glitz and glam, over 80 members and guests gathered to celebrate HBWN's 20th Birthday on Friday 22 November.
Held at The Westport Club, Port Macquarie, our special guest speaker, founding president Kellie Mills, shared the inspirational history of HBWN. With many original members in attendance, it was a lovely reunion to reflect on their foresight and to see how the network continues to strengthen twenty years later.
The event also unveiled an exciting brand refresh. Moving into a new decade of HBWN, the Committee belived it was a fitting occassion to reveal a new look to take HBWN into the future. The new HBWN icon is a fresh take on the traditional Poppy. It relates to the modern HBWN and brings a sense of ownership to our brand. The logo represents the diverse group of women that are part of our organisation; with each petal reflecting our core values: encourage, educate, empower and embrace. The new branding was brought to life by graphic designer Karina Schiller of Schiller Studios. A talented and much missed HBWN Committee member, Karina relocated to Melbourne but travelled back to join us unveil the new look. What a legacy to leave HBWN with Karina - thankyou!
Given this was also our end of year event, we once again supported the Australian charity 'Share the Dignity'. Attendees were asked to bring along a handbag filled with personal care items that would make a woman feel special, especially in a time of crisis. As is always the case, our members doanted generously. These donations will directly benefit local women in crisis and will go to local charities such as the Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Service women's refuge.Proudly sponsored and hosted by The Westport Club, we humbly thank Jenny Edmunds and her wonderful team for supporting HBWN so generously. The room was styled beautifully, the food was stunning and the service was incredible.
With gratitude, we would also like to thank Ally Purnell of Dreamlife Photography for roaming the room to capture all the fun of the night.
But, finally a big thank you to all of our valued HBWN Members. Your continued support and energy is taking us into an exciting new decade of #connectingwomen.
