2018 International Women's Day Hastings Heroines
The Hastings Business Women's Network (HBWN) and Leslie Williams MP, hosted the annual International Women's Day and Hastings Heroines Awards on Thursday 8 March at Panthers Port Macquarie.
The award ceremony acknowledged local women who are making a positive difference in the Hastings community and who are driving gender parity.
Congratulations to our 2018 Hastings Heroine Nominees and Winners, Jess Denham (Young Hastings Heroine) and Sue Jogever (Hastings Heroine) who were recognised for encouraging and striving for disruptive innovation, creating new norms in the Hastings community.
Guests heard from influential speaker, Bec Brideson, who has been a trailblazer and innovator in the marketing-to-women space. Making her mark in the male-dominated advertising and marketing world, Bec reflected on her journey as a woman in business and raise awareness of the challenging perceptions of gender gaps between men and women.
The #PressforProgress themed event raised over $18,000 for the Port Macquarie Hastings Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Service which provides accommodation and support to women and children escaping domestic violence or in crisis.
