2017 Be Good To Yourself
On Thursday 21 September, female business owners and employees attended a different kind of workshop, ditching the suits in favour of lycra, and meeting at the beach rather than the boardroom.
Hastings Business Women's Network members participated in an empowering Mind Body Session with Innovate Body and Mind on Thursday morning at Flynn's Beach. The morning commenced with an invigorating high-intensity workout with Kerry, who tailored the workout to the fitness levels of all members. After completing the aptly-nicknamed 'sweat-sesh', attendees then took part in a calming yoga and stretch session with Christie.
The morning's session was a taste of 'Moving On Up', an 8 week program which Innovate Body and Mind are running, for survivors of and those currently experiencing domestic violence. The program is aimed at building up self esteem through improving health, providing an opportunity for women to reconnect with their body and focus on themselves in a really supportive and safe environment. All of which can be absent when experiencing domestic violence.
After the workout and stretch session, attendees enjoyed a delicious nourishing breakfast sponsored by XS Foods.
Thank you to Innovate Body and Mind for a truly inspiring and rejuvenating morning; it was a great way for our members to press the rest button, re-focus their energies and of course enjoy some networking time with other members. Thank you also to our generous sponsors XS Foods for sponsoring the breakfast, which was enjoyed by all and got our working days off to a flying start.
Thanks must also go to all that attended, it was great to see so many members embracing the opportunity to take some 'me-time' at this busy time of year.
