2017 #mygen Breakfast
The room was buzzing with positive energy as we explored the various generations that we work with, live with and provide products and services to at our #mygen breakfast.
In the age of digital disruption, the challenge for many employers and HR managers is to close the generational gap, and find the right balance that allows Baby Boomers, Gen Xers, GenY and GenZ to work together for the benefit of the business. And, for the first time in history we have four generations in the work place.
HBWN's #mygen event opened up the conversation between the generations, broke down the stereotypes and provided insights into the various generations.
It was wonderful to have all four generations represented in the audience and contributing to the conversation, and to have two males from different generations attending our event. Ultimately, the key takeaway was to ensure that we value each generation for what they contribute through collaboration, flexibility and mutual respect.
Thank you to our very generous panelists for sharing their experience and pearls of wisdom; Barbara Diane Smith, Sue Jogever, Ren Mathieson and the amazing Tamara Dobson who really smashed the conventional GenZ stereotype! Thanks also to our wonderful sponsor and venue Port Macquarie TAFE, our hosts Kayley Riddle and Monique Muusers and everyone who attended.
