Business Women Down Tools for Empowerment Event

Female business owners and employees will attend a different kind of workshop this week, ditching the suits in favour of lycra, and meeting at the beach rather than the boardroom. Hastings Business Women's Network members will participate in a Mind Body Session with Innovate Body and Mind on Thursday 21 September at Flynn's Beach.

The HBWN focuses on encouraging, empowering and educating women in the Hastings region to be their best. The theme of Thursday's event will be about the importance of physical health and wellbeing in boosting organisational performance and overall employee satisfaction. The event also provides an opportunity for attendees to connect with fellow business women, network members and to welcome new members and guests.

HBWN Events Coordinator Nicole Liddle, said this style of event was chosen to encourage members to experience the benefits of being good to yourself and to learn new skills to promote good health and harmony in everyday life.

"Work life balance is something we all talk about achieving, but rarely take the time to actually put steps in place to achieve it. This event provides a welcome opportunity for members to take some time out and try something new, push their limits and network with other HBWN members," Ms Liddle said.

"With this being a very busy time of year in Port Macquarie, it's a great chance to press the reset button, have a fun morning out with fellow members and have a laugh".

The mornings session will be a sample of the Innovate Body and Mind 'Moving On Up' program which is an 8 week program they are running for survivors of and those currently experiencing domestic violence. The program is aimed at building up self esteem through improving health , providing an opportunity for women to reconnect with their body and focus on themselves in a really supportive and safe environment. All of which can be absent when experiencing domestic violence.

HBWN events are known for being friendly and inviting. Community members are always welcome to register as a guest to experience what the group has to offer. The workout will be suitable for all fitness levels.

Tickets for the event are $30 for members and $40 for guests. Registration is available through the HBWN website.

The event is generously sponsored by XS Foods, who will be providing a light breakfast following the workout.
